Pathology Equipment
Pathology equipment covers the full tissue sample-preparation chain — from sectioning and freezing to staining, embedding, and processing. Current models and established generations still installed and serviceable in Iran should be presented side by side; manufacturer discontinuation alone is not a reason for removal.

Subcategories
Microtome
Microtomes cut tissue samples into very thin, uniform sections before staining and microscopic review. Manual/semi-automated/automated type, feed precision, ergonomics, blade compatibility, and cut repeatability drive selection. Leica HistoCore BIOCUT (mechanical), HistoCore MULTICUT (semi-automated), and HistoCore AUTOCUT (automated) form the main range; the RM2125 RTS is an economical, established model still worth considering for the Iran market.
Cryostat
A cryostat is a microtome inside a cold chamber, producing frozen tissue sections for frozen-section work, rapid intraoperative diagnosis, and research. Chamber/sample temperature stability, cutting-mechanism quality, freeze speed, disinfection, and workspace drive selection. The Leica CM1950, with DualEcoTec cooling, a sample-head range of -10 to -50°C, 1–100 µm section thickness, and 15 freezing stations plus 2 quick-freeze stations, is a well-known model in this family.
Auto Stainer
Auto-stainers standardize and automate tissue-slide staining, reducing human error and increasing repeatability. Staining type, hourly capacity, station count, and reagent management are key criteria. The Leica HistoCore SPECTRA ST is an automated H&E system with up to 360 slides/hour, 52 cuvette stations, and RFID-based reagent management; Thermo Scientific Gemini AS is a known established model in this group.
Paraffin Dispenser
A paraffin dispenser / embedding center prepares and embeds tissue samples in paraffin before microtomy. Precise temperature control, paraffin-reservoir volume, cassette capacity, and a cold plate are key factors. The Leica HistoCore Arcadia H (paraffin reservoir up to 4L, 50–75°C range) paired with the Arcadia C cold plate (up to 65 cassettes, around -6°C) is the reference set for this group.
Tissue Processor
A tissue processor moves samples through fixation, dehydration, clearing, and paraffin infiltration to prepare them for embedding and sectioning. Cassette capacity, retort count, protocol speed, and traceability drive selection. The Leica HistoCore PELORIS 3 (dual retort, 16 reagent bottles, 4 wax chambers, barcode) is the high-end option and the HistoCore PEARL (200-cassette capacity) the compact one; Thermo Scientific Excelsior AS is a known established model.
