Pathology Equipment
Cryostat
A cryostat is a microtome inside a cold chamber, producing frozen tissue sections for frozen-section work, rapid intraoperative diagnosis, and research. Chamber/sample temperature stability, cutting-mechanism quality, freeze speed, disinfection, and workspace drive selection. The Leica CM1950, with DualEcoTec cooling, a sample-head range of -10 to -50°C, 1–100 µm section thickness, and 15 freezing stations plus 2 quick-freeze stations, is a well-known model in this family.
